Organisation

The governance of ECNP has been organised expressly to preserve the organisation’s scientific integrity and independence and of its decision-making, and to safeguard the rights of its members.

General Assembly

The General Assembly, the annual general meeting of ECNP members, is ECNP’s highest deliberative body. It is held every year during the ECNP Congress and is chaired by the ECNP president or vice-president. Additional (‘extraordinary’) general assemblies may also be convened by the General Assembly or the Executive Committee. Forty ordinary members constitute a quorum (fifty in the case of extraordinary general assemblies).

The functions of the General Assembly include:

1

The election of the president and Executive Committee.

2

Final oversight of the organisation’s financial affairs.

3

Amendments of the constitution.

4

Final determination of the organisation’s dissolution or merger.

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee is ECNP’s executive organ. It is charged with setting the organisation’s strategic agenda, planning its activities, representing it publicly and managing its funds and assets, subject to the final oversight of the General Assembly.
