History
Founded in 2019, the Network unites researchers across Europe to study resilience as a transdiagnostic concept and to enable cross-border collaboration from basic to clinical science. From the outset we set a shared agenda, pooled data and expertise, and linked with related ECNP networks to speed translation into practice and policy. Our initial aims included joint funding, shared databases and coordinated methods, laying the groundwork for durable partnerships with academia, clinics and industry.
Resilience touches every life. Our Network brings together disciplines to reveal how people adapt after stress and how we can strengthen that capacity. By sharing data, aligning methods and working with partners, we move from description to action. Our next phase focuses on biomarkers, mechanisms and trials that can guide prevention and care for those most at risk.
Goals
Build an integrated preclinical-to-clinical resilience research platform across Europe.
Identify and validate biomarkers that predict resilient outcomes.
Develop and test strategies to enhance resilience in vulnerable groups.
Create shared databases and harmonised measures of resilience.
Secure and shape European funding for resilience research.
Train early career researchers in translational resilience methods.

Resilience: from neurobiology to clinical practice
The Resilience Network (in collaboration with the Traumatic Stress Network) organised an ECNP Course, aiming to foster interdisciplinary collaboration to understand the interplay between stress and resilience in different contexts, how to operationalise and measure it, but also its underlying (neuro)biological mechanisms.
