Resilience Network

Seeking to advance understanding of how individuals overcome stress and adversity. It focuses on the complex interplay of psychological, neurobiological, and environmental factors that contribute to stress resilience, which is relevant across a range of psychiatric and somatic disorders. The Network fosters collaboration to identify the biological, psychological, and environmental determinants of resilience and develop novel therapeutic strategies to enhance resilience in vulnerable populations.

History

The Network was established in 2019 to bring together researchers from diverse disciplines to advance the understanding of resilience and promote cross-border collaborations to develop effective interventions for improving mental and physical health outcomes.

Every person is familiar with the waxing and waning of stress and adversity, as it is and has always been, an integral part of our daily lives as humans. Relatively little is known what drives stress resilience, and which biological, psychological, and environmental factors drive an individual’s resilience capacity. We aim to combine knowledge, efforts and share data, but also join efforts to emphasize the importance of fundamental and applied resilience research to funding agencies, the government and the general public.
