Workshop on Applied Neuroscience

12-15 March 2026, Nice, France

Aim of the workshop

The three-day ECNP Workshop offers European early career scientists an unparalleled opportunity to develop their research careers in applied neuroscience.

Every year the ECNP Workshop on Applied Neuroscience brings together 100 top early career scientists for three days of immersive lectures and discussion on the latest advances and perspectives in experimental and clinical research into brain disorders and the science of their treatments.

As well as being able to engage with world-leading experts and early career peers from across Europe, participants have the chance to present their research through posters and short oral presentations. Selected participants will also be funded to present at the ECNP Congress’s New Findings Symposium and ECNP’s Got Talent Session, with four runners-up receiving an ECNP Excellence Award to also help them attend the congress. The workshop provides free registration and hotel accommodation in shared rooms. To support participants from developing economies, travel subsidies are available upon request.

More than just a conference, the ECNP Workshop on Applied Neuroscience is a vibrant community of early career scientists and senior researchers working together to advance the field of neuroscience and contribute to the betterment of brain health and treatment.

Join us for an enriching and inspiring experience advancing excellence in brain research and innovation shaping the future of applied neuroscience.

Each Workshop focuses on three recurring topics and one variable topic:

  1. Experimental clinical neuroscience highlights recent findings in the field of clinical neuroscience.
  2. Behavioural and systems explores novel insights into behaviour and the neurobiological mechanisms and neural circuits underlying its induction, control and coordination, with both animal and human studies examined.
  3. Molecular and cellular discusses new findings in molecular and cellular mechanisms related to the causes, characteristics and control of psychiatric and/or neurological disorders, including cellular, animal and human studies.
  4. Brain-body interaction (variable topic of 2026) highlights the bidirectional communication between peripheral and central (patho)physiological processes.

Within each topic, two leading scientists will address specific themes and five early career scientists will present their research.

What we offer

  • A platform for 100 Early Career Scientists to meet with inspiring speakers and experts in the field and present their research poster in the beautiful city of Nice.
  • An invitation to 20 participants (five within each topic) to give a short oral presentation on their research during the workshop.
  • An opportunity for some participants to present at the New Findings Symposium at the ECNP Congress 2026.
  • An opportunity for some participants to present during the ECNP’s Got Talent Session at the ECNP Congress 2026.
  • An Excellence Award for 4 runners-up to attend the ECNP Congress 2026.
  • A chance to get an abstract published in a supplement to the journal Neuroscience Applied.
  • Free registration.
  • Hotel accommodation in a shared room.
  • Travel subsidy for participants from countries with a developing economy.
