Scientific topics
ECNP accepts and encourages the submission of abstracts and (proposal) outlines by psychiatrists, neuroscientists, neurologists, psychologists and other professionals, from across the world, who are keen on discussing the latest developments in the science and treatment of brain disorders. ECNP accepts abstracts from a broad range of topics in applied neuroscience.
A list of the scientific topics, divided over four overarching tracks, is below.

Who can submit an abstract?
Abstracts could be submitted by professionals from across the world who are keen on discussing the latest developments in the science and treatment of brain disorders.
It is also possible to submit a non-standard abstract. For example, clinical cases, literature reviews and research proposals. You will be asked to indicate this during submission.
Once the abstract is submitted, no further changes will be allowed. But it is allowed to add new data to the poster that is presented at the congress, and the abstract will remain the same as submitted.
Abstract Submission Fee
To submit an abstract, payment of the abstract submission fee is required.

Amount: EUR 40 (excluding VAT) per abstract

Purpose: covers administrative costs related to abstract handling and processing

Payment method: only credit cards are accepted for payments

Refund Policy: this fee is non-refundable under any circumstances, regardless of acceptance status. If accepted, a registration fee is still required
How to submit
Once the submission opens (late January 2026), you will be able to submit your abstract. You will first be directed to the payment module.
Multiple abstracts can be submitted but must be paid individually.
Registration for the congress by the presenting author is mandatory to be able to present a poster.
Deadline
The deadline for submission is 5 May 2026 at 23.59 CEST (Central European Summer Time).
(There is no late breaking abstract submission, and the deadline will not be extended)

Review
Your abstract will be reviewed, if submitted according to the guidelines, in the period between 11 May and 15 July 2026. Abstracts accepted for poster presentation will receive one of the following outcomes:

ECNP Excellence Award
Early Career Scientists (according to the criteria) and residents of an European Country with a Developing Economy (CDE)** are encouraged to submit an abstract for poster presentation. Excellent work might be rewarded with an ECNP Excellence Award.
**CDE-countries within Europe are: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Georgia, Kosovo, Macedonia-FYR, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine.
