Composition

The committee is composed of four members who sit the whole three-year term. The fifth member is the winner of the previous year's ECNP Neuropsychopharmacology Award (ENA), i.e. preclinical ENA winners judge the preclinical call, clinical winners the clinical call.

Tasks

The task of an Award Committee member is to:

  • Review and, if necessary, rank the awards candidates and collectively propose the winners
  • Propose candidates from outside the nominee/applicant pool, should the need arise
  • Refer the proposal to the Executive Committee for approval
  • The committee chair introduces the ENA winner at the ENA plenary lecture at the ECNP Congress.

Time commitment

The committee typically meets once per award cycle (i.e. per annum) by video conference, usually in February. In exceptional cases, where an agreement could not be reached, a second call may be necessary.
