ECNP is seeking a dedicated and experienced mid-career ECNP member to join the ECNP Networks Board. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of ECNP’s collaborative research efforts, shaping the future of the ECNP Networks programme and its initiatives.

About the ECNP Networks Board

The Networks Board plays a key role in guiding ECNP’s Networks. It oversees all Networks initiatives, ensuring a coherent strategic vision, inclusiveness, and smooth operations. The Board reviews requests for Network activities and membership applications. Additionally, it provides strategic recommendations to the ECNP Executive Committee (EC) on Network-related matters. 

To align with the growing number of Networks and increasing workload and to maintain diversity, we are now opening a call for a third Network Board member. 

What is the frequency of ECNP Network Board meetings?

The Board has 30 minute bi-weekly (online) meetings.

What is the composition of the ECNP Network Board?

The Board consists of the chair, who is the ECNP President-elect, a co-chair (Nic van der Wee) and a third member. The Networks Board works closely with the ECNP Office, which provides operational and strategic support.  

What would the term of the third member be?

Three years with the possibility of a second-term extension.

Time commitment

  • Attend bi-weekly 30-minute virtual board meetings. 

  • Respond to emails and support board activities as needed. 

  • Engage and collaborate with the ECNP Taskforce. 

Who should apply?

We invite applications from ECNP members who: 

  • Are mid-career professionals who are active within ECNP (e.g., Networks or other initiatives). 

  • Have a strong background in applied neuroscience research. 

  • Possess a clear vision for supporting and expanding ECNP’s collaborative research structures. 

  • Have experience in committee work, strategic decision-making, and network building. 

  • Are willing to dedicate time to bi-weekly ½-hour board meetings and ongoing tasks. 

  • Possess the ability to engage with diverse cultures and professional backgrounds. 

  • Bring a balanced perspective, considering geographical representation, gender diversity, and scientific expertise.
