Composition

The committee is composed of seventeen members, the term of service is one year for the regular committee members and three years for the chair. The following functions are also included: The Chair of the Educational Committee, the Editor-in-chief Journal of Neuroscience Applied, and the Editor-in-chief of the Journal ENP.

Tasks

The task of a Scientific Programme Committee member is to:

  • Reviewing session proposals sent in by open call for submission
  • Reviewing industry session proposals
  • Come up with session content, format ideas, and speaker suggestions
  • Fill open spots in the congress programme by speaking and chairing

Time commitment

During their tenure the Scientific Programme Committee meets in-person once, and two times by video conference. Prior to meeting in-person they are requested to rate all the session proposals received by open submission. Additional input may also be requested by e-mail on specific topics, to which members are expected to respond.

In return, Scientific Programme Committee members are entitled to one night of accommodation and travel reimbursement for their attendance to the in-person meeting. In addition, they receive three nights of accommodation, free registration and travel reimbursement in order to attend the annual ECNP congress according to the guidelines.  Finally, they receive reimbursement of small expenses  dependent on attending two of the three meetings.
