Scientific programme now online

The preliminary scientific programme is now available on the ECNP Congress website.

Exciting session topics this year include sleep and depression, role of mTOR in psychiatric disorders, oxytocin in schizophrenia, imaging markers for clinical use, new medications for autism, medications for frontotemporal dementia – and more.

Applications for the 2015 Worskhop are now open

The ECNP Workshop on Clinical Research Methods is a new initiative designed to introduce junior clinicians into research methodology and to promote a critical approach to the scientific literature that is particularly relevant to clinical practice.

The first Workshop will be held at the Hospital Clinic of the University of Barcelona on 4-6 November 2015. Attendance is limited to 25 participants. There is no registration fee, accommodation is free and travel will be substantially covered by ECNP. The deadline for applications is 1 May 2015.

This month’s featured article for free download is: ‘Oxytocin and social cognition in affective and psychotic disorders,’ by M. Mercedes Perez-Rodrigueza, Katie Mahon, Manuela Russo, Allison K. Ungar, and Katherine E. Burdick.

Call for articles for Neural Plasticity special issue


The open-access journal Neural Plasticity is calling for original research and review articles on the attention system plasticity as a progenitor of cognitive performance in health and in disease. Papers are sought that seek to define the interaction between the attention system and life circumstances across the various aspects of the attention system in humans, animals and in animal models.

Questions should be sent to lead guest editor Avi Avital (avital@technion.ac.il). Papers can be submitted here; the deadline is 17 April.
