The Handbook of Experimental Pharmacology is now published

The Springer Handbook Good Research Practice in Non-Clinical Pharmacology and Biomedicine on quality in preclinical research has just been published. The book was edited by EQIPD investigators Anton Bespalov, Martin C. Michel, Thomas Steckler and many other EQIPD members contributed as authors.

Campfire Session – 33rd ECNP Congress, 12-15 September

The EQIPD project will be featured in one of the ECNP Congress ‘Campfire Sessions’. Lucas Noldus will discuss how to improve quality in preclinical data without getting lost in clinical translation. The session is scheduled for 14 September 2020 at 9.45am CET.

The intimate setup of the session provides useful opportunities to join in discussion, ask questions and brainstorm.

2020 Best Negative Data Prize: call for submissions

The Global Preclinical Data Forum (GPDF), a partnership of Cohen Veterans Bioscience (CVB), a non-profit research biotech, and the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ECNP), invite you to submit your publications with ‘negative’ results– where the data do not confirm the expected outcomes or original hypotheses – in neuroscience research.

The award will be conferred at the 33rd ECNP Congress, 12-15 September 2020, where the winner will be invited to present a talk about his or her negative data results paper.

The winner will receive a prize of € 10,000 made available through the support provided by CVB.

Corresponding authors may submit their papers directly on the GDPF website.

The EQIPD project was highlighted on a recent publication by DDNews. Lucas Noldus from Noldus Information Technology, one of the 29 partners of the EQIPD project, gave an interview that focused on trends in preclinical behavioural research and the problems of translational validity and reproducibility of behavioural testing.
