Types of presentation (in alphabetical order)

Brainstorming sessions (BS)
Brainstorming sessions are small focused sessions by ECNP members on a topic of their choice. Within each session, two experts in that specific field of interest will initiate the discussion.

Five parallel tracks (S&E)
Four tracks consist of seven scientific symposia each. Apart from the two Young Scientists Award symposia, the symposia consist of five presentations by invited speakers.

The different scientific tracks are:

– Treatment track (evidence-based treatment);
– Clinical research track (clinical research issues);
– Interface track (link between preclinical and clinical research);
– Preclinical track (on preclinical research). After the symposia in the preclinical track, delegates will have the opportunity to meet the speakers during a scientific café for 30 minutes.

As a rule the presenters in the Young Scientists Award symposia, one scheduled in the preclinical track and one in the interface track, are selected from the poster presenters at the ECNP Workshop on Neuropsychopharmacology for Young Scientists in Europe that will be held in March 2010, Nice, France.

In the treatment and the interface tracks, one symposium may be reserved for the presentation of
new data, i.e. 'Breaking News'. Based on submitted papers, ten scientists are invited to present the latest news on their (pre)clinical scientific research.

The fifth track consists of educational update sessions and focuses on a continuous dialogue between the participants and the presenters. The educational updates in this track will discuss different angles of a subject and provide state-of-the-art summaries with emphasis on new information relevant for clinical practice. The use of a 'key pad' system will enlarge the intended interactive component of the educational update sessions.

Plenary lectures (PL)
The plenary lectures are presented by well-known senior scientists. Three plenary lectures are scheduled, one of which will be the ECNP Neuropsychopharmacology Award 2010 lecture.

Poster sessions (P)
Poster presentations are grouped per topic.
Presenters are requested to attend their poster site from 12.00 - 14.00 hours. Usually, the presentation of the ECNP Travel Awards is scheduled at 11.05 hours and the presentation of the ECNP Poster Awards at 12.30 hours.

Lunch will be available during the poster sessions.

The programme of the poster presentations is presented in the poster sessions booklet in the congress bag, on the Congress Information System (CIS) and at the CIS stand located on the ground floor of the congress venue.
