Home to the Hermitage Museum and the Kirov Ballet of the Mariinsky Theatre, the city has been proclaimed as the ‘Cultural Capital of Russia.’ Built by Tsar Peter the Great as a gateway between East and West, St. Petersburg continues its tradition of trade, exchange, and creative fusion.
